What is Walk A Mile In Her Shoes?
A chance to join other men as they raise funds and awareness about the serious tragedy of violence against women and girls in our communities. This event is a playful opportunity for men to show solidarity and participate in an international walk. All proceeds support the Y’s Women’s Centre.
Purpose
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes not only raises much-needed funds for the YWCA Thompson, but it also raises awareness of the issue of violence against women and children in our city and surrounding communities.
How it Works
Men take up the ‘high heel challenge’ by collecting pledges and walking a short distance in women’s high heel shoes. Men can either register or be nominated by a friend, relative, Walk a Mile committee member or stranger!
How the Funds Are Used
The money raised is targeted for YWCA programs and services that bring awareness to end violence against women and girls.
