The YWCA Thompson operates its residence, hostel and programs without permanent core funding. In other words – we rely on donations, fund raising, partnerships and community investment.

In-Kind Donations
You can also assist the YWCA Thompson with in-kind donations. Here are some areas in which you may be able to help:
- Y’s Women’s Centre: women’s clothing, pads, shampoo, educational books, CDs, DVDs and other materials.
- Resource Centre: books for women and girls, in particular, books that promote healthy choices, equality, empowerment, recovery and well-being.
- Children’s Corner: educational toys and books (small sizes), a children’s seating area.

Signature Events
The YWCA Thompson hosts and participates in a number of signature events that support our Vision and Mission.
Events we host, like the Walk-A-Mile in Her Shoes event, increase awareness and promote our mission while helping raise funds.
Many corporate and community partners support the work of YWCA Thompson through sponsorships and donations to these events, or through in-kind donations of goods and services, which make them successful.
